3rd Port-Automation Workshop : Development of Container AGV

The container terminal is one of the supporting facilities in the maritime industry. The process of building and developing container terminals comes to the Multi-Site Terminal Container option from both the Offshore terminal and the Onshore Terminal. To manage container placement and management in a multi-site condition, a transportation that supports the development of the automation system of container terminal operations is needed.

Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) as one solution with several advantages and patterns of operation Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV) are portable robots that follow lines or cables marked on the floor or use radio waves, vision cameras, magnets, or lasers for navigation. This vehicle is most often used in industrial applications to transport heavy material around large industrial buildings, such as factories or warehouses. In its implementation in the container port area, AGV plays a very important role in the stacking process that carries goods from the Quay crane to the stacking area or automatically arranges the container while in the container yard.
